LIFESTRUCK provides a practical space to ignite your journey and connect with a like-minded community of individuals who are inspired to change their lives.

LIFESTRUCK has created a number of professionally designed programs that are tailored to suit the needs of any individual.  These programs, together with the consistent support system that the LIFESTRUCK community offers enables the members to not only feel more comfortable and confident in their quest to change their lives, but also to attain an invaluable sense of commitment and accountability which will consciously be applied in all areas of their lives.

Programs:

IGNITE!  Endurance: from zero to HERO! IGNITE! Is about setting you on fire. Its about putting you to work and driving, feeding and fueling your core desire to succeed be it in 5km, 10km, 21.1, marathons or Ironman. There is no reason why you can’t do it.

How do you eat an elephant? You eat it one bite at a time. How do you make it to the finish line? How do you get to ironman? Let LIFESTRUCK IGNITE! You. Its about taking that first step.

SPARK!  Change my life. Facilitated by an internationally recognized professional Life coach, the SPARK! program focuses on getting in touch with your strengths emotionally, physically and spiritually and connects these with a physical outcome: e.g. Losing weight, getting active, increasing fitness levels etc.

This program will assist you in getting off the couch, around the block or over your first 10km finish line. It is about finding what touches YOU. What makes YOU feel alive and it is about YOU and taking the steps to make that a reality.

ADVENTURE!  Do you have a bucket list? A list of things you “would love to do one day before you die”… Do you know when you are going to die? There is no better moment then the present… Why wait? ADVENTURE! is about doing the things you have always wanted to do. It is about digging out the list tucked away safely in the pages of a journal, dusting them off and taking action and saying YES to a real life adventure. Now.

Last year, The OTTER African Trail run presented by Hi-Tec  took me 8h40m to complete (*For most, the Otter trail is something you book for a year in advance to hike over 5 days)  It is undoubtably 42.2km of the toughest most beautiful terrain that you can ever imagine, and the second day of 6 days of what has become the legendary SOUTHERN STORM presented by Hi-tec.

And in 2010? Guess what? I got to do it all again. This time 7h33m … nice! I love what I do, I love this event and what it does to people.  What Magnetic South put together is absolutely out of this world. I hope that what I have captured will touch your soul and will make you ask yourself just when you are going to Just push play … !  I have found myself amongst the most amazing people, in the most amazing places. it feels surreal.

The same question that I get from most …? ”Was it as tough as last year?” (Yes, I was fitter than last year but that doesnt answer the question!) It was shorter, but tougher. I had to dig deeper and considering I have done 3 ironman, and this is my second Southern Storm (and Otter)  you’ d think I’d just lace up and make it happen. Well, the truth is that it’s not that type of event … It is magical. It’s nature at its most rugged and most beautiful to be respected and to be challenged respectfully. It wants you to succeed, but more that that it demands that you respect it. So much so that you need to get there and do it for yourself. What I share here, is just a snippet of it. Will I be back for more? lol …. what do you think? Just push play.

My thanks, love and support go to Magnetic South, the crew that were up before us, there after us, fed us, cleaned us, drove us and ultimately produced something magical. And of course, Iain Don Wauchope (two times winner) who once again beat me and won the race (he was 9 hours ahead of me after 6 days – no wonder he won, he had an extra nights sleep!

Lastly to Lu and HB for looking after us, the massages, the 13 lifestruck legends that went out there had a jol and made me smile,laugh, dig deep and leave wanting more.  Plett, Flashbacks and Southern Storm to a whole new level.

SEAL Adventures – Listen, I am all for pushing boundaries and challenging yourself.  It defines you, it changes you, it builds you. When you break your boundaries you learn a new definition of what drives you. Of “success”. That said, there is nothing right now that would persuade me to get my butt into some seal looking (s’cuze the pun) neoprene and dive into a swirling bait-ball.
