My name is Qenehelo Vuyelwa Rorisang Lebatha – but you can call me Que;
everyone does. I’m a dreamer, over-achiever and a thrill seeker that is
on a pursuit of happiness. I joined the Lifestruck crew on the 11 August
2011 with dreams of obtaining the rare, admirable title of an Ironman.
To gain respect for myself, respect from others and an international
definition of just how kick-ass I am. The journey has been tough, fun,
boring, painful, exciting, unbelievable and believable at the same time.
I’ve been running, swimming, and cycling my butt off (well we hope so
huh?
) and seeing some encouraging change in my body – whilst not
really seeing any change at all.
My journey to Ironman is being taken one day at a time, today I had an
awesome 3km swim with the pool all to myself (get there before 06h00 and
the VA pool is all yours) yesterday my faithful 04h45 (yes the sun is up
at that time) alarm went off and I turned it off; rolled over and
ignored it. Last weekend I broke my all time personal record of a 85km
cycle – this weekend I struggled to do 60km. Like I said – the journey
has to be taken one day at a time; you will have awesome days and you
will not have awesome days. Best piece of advice I have been given “If
you miss a session, its gone – stacking up sessions is bad practice”
Louise Jones, Stuart Hoy, Otsile Mabusela and Que Lebatha – yes I’ve
always wanted to quote myself.
How do you eat an elephant – one bite at a time, I’m still trying to
figure out why I want to eat that elephant; best answer I can come up
with right now – cause it tastes good…
Just, push play.
